Prior to joining CID, Peter served as VP of Commercialization for Battelle Memorial Institute and as an independent consultant to The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Battelle, and a variety of life science start-ups. Peter was CEO of Progenics, which he sold to Fitch, Inc., an international product design and development firm and served in a variety of senior executive positions at Neoprobe Corporation, a biotech device company focused on cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Peter received an MBA from The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, a BA degree in history from Loyola University of Chicago, and is a Certified Public Accountant, Ohio inactive license.

- Mike Brooks is the President and Chief Executive Officers of the Indiana Health Industry Forum. Brooks was appointed to head IHIF in July 2005. The not-for-profit, private sector organization, and its members represent a private and public alliance of manufacturers, suppliers, educational institutions, health care providers, service providers and government. Prior to IHIF, Brooks was associate vice president for research and economic development and director of Innovation Campus at Utah State University. While in that state, he was appointed to serve on the governor’s economic development advisory board and was a member of the Association of University Research Parks. He is a native of Greensburg, Indiana, Brooks received a B.A. from Purdue University where he studied sociology, and economics. He held leadership roles in the Kokomo/Howard County Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Vernon Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. Before heading to Utah in 2004, he spent fourteen years as President of the Lafayette-West Lafayette Economic Development Corporation. He also collaborated with Purdue to create the university's high tech incubator.

In 2006, Dr. Driscoll was appointed to his current role in which he leads P&G Pharmaceuticals’ global efforts to find, evaluate and in-license new pharmaceutical compounds, devices and diagnostics. Mr. Emont’s more than two decades of health care industry experience include 13 years in venture capital. Prior to joining Triathlon and KCSF, Mr. Emont was Director of Venture Capital for Humana Inc. where he managed a venture capital fund that made investments totaling over $75 million in 11 portfolio companies and three venture funds. - David Wight is Director of Ohio University’s Edison Biotechnology Institute (EBI), a research unit focused on the development and commercialization of new biomedical technologies. He has over 20 years of professional experience in scientific research and has been involved in the generation, protection, and commercialization of university faculty technologies for the past 15 years, first as a scientist and for the past 13 years as director. Dr. Wight also serves as Director of BioOhio’s Southeastern Ohio regional office. In that role, Dr. Wight provides business assistance to regional bioscience companies and is actively engaged with regional economic development officials through membership on the Technology Development Committee of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Commission. Under her leadership, start-up clients have generated over $170 MM in grant, research contract and equity investments and created 180 jobs. She co-founded SoundingBoardSM a regional business plan review program and Cincinnati Creates Companies, a regional business plan writing program for technology businesses. - Karen has over 15 years of venture capital experience at two venture capital funds investing in devices, diagnostics, healthcare services, and biotech/specialty pharmaceutical deals. Currently at Charter Life Sciences, she is responsible for co-managing the Cincinnati office. Additionally, Ms. Morgan acts as an independent consultant assisting healthcare start-up companies and is the current interim CFO of Akebia Therapeutics. Prior to joining CLS, Karen was a partner with Senmed Medical Ventures, where she was responsible for financial management of Senmed's more than $100 million venture capital and technology licensing portfolio. She served as a member of the Investment Committee and was also responsible for all legal transactions closing over 50 private placement transactions and several licensing deals. Karen represented Senmed on several boards of directors and she served as CFO of five start-up companies. Prior to Senmed, Karen held various positions in small and medium sized companies in the telecommunications industry. She started her career at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Morgan holds an MBA from American University and a BA with honors in economics and business from Catholic University.

As a joint MD/MBA student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she co-founded SanoGene Therapeutics, an early-stage biotech company, and she currently serves as its President and Acting CEO. Prior to medical school, Dr. Nowinski managed two NIH-funded clinical research programs, authoring several peer-reviewed scientific articles in the neurosciences. She graduated with honors (B.S.) from Northwestern University.
